Sweetie Des Arts was a convicted serial killer, former cook and stripper. She is a major antagonist in Dead as a Doornail, in which she continues her perceived mission of assassinating shapeshifters and werewolves amongst the local Bon Temps population.

History[]

Pre-Series[]

She used to work as a stripper in strip club Foxy Femmes, where she was employed under a different name. However, three years before the events of Dead as a Doornail, she was bitten by a bitten werewolf, which gave her partial shapeshifting powers; every full moon, her hands would transform into animal claws and she would grow feral, facial features. Her boyfriend left her and she was forced to give up her job as a stripper; she became a cook after the incident.

Dead as a Doornail[]

Sweetie took it on herself to murder as many shapeshifters as possible. Over the years, she has killed 22 and injured 41. When she arrived into Bon Temps, she settled in as a cook in Merlotte's and continued her killing spree, shooting teenage werefox Heather Kinman dead and injuring werepanther Calvin Norris. Telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse began to look into the murders, until she herself was targeted by Sweetie and shot. Sookie survived the attack and after being brought home from the hospital by Claude, Claude told her Sweetie used to be a stripper.

Sookie eventually joined the police stakeout, hiding out in an alley to look for the killer. Sweetie was caught shooting a werewolf, and she explained to Sookie she had shot her because she thought Sookie was a supe, because she smelled like one. Sweetie nevertheless thought Sookie was guilty by association, but Sookie was saved by Sam Merlotte, who attacked Sweetie in dog-form, and Andy Bellefleur, who shot Sweetie and killed her.
